Not enough diskspace to delete files

Tags: Tech

Windows 2003 Server came up with this helpfull error message today when I was trying to remove a folder that contained about 4GB worth of data:
A picture named M2

To be honest, the folder was located on a different volume that was mounted as a directory in the root of the system drive, which had 2.5 GB free space available.
So as Windows tried to move the files into the recycle bin it ran into this lack of available space.
