Lotus Notes client Sametime component lost connection workaround

I've encountered some problems in the past with the Lotus Notes client built-in sametime component, where it would continually loose connection (and reconnect).
After poking the client with several sticks I came up with a workaround which I posted in the R6/R7 Forum over on notes.net
