Interesting traceroute from Vodafone's UMTS network
Tags: Vodafone vodoofone UMTS
Today I had to connect to the net through the company supplied Vodafone (or vodoofone as my wife and I like to call it) UMTS data card and noticed I could not connect to MSN, while things like Sametime, Skype, ICQ & GoogleTalk worked just fine.
curious to see if there was a network issue I tried a tracert to www.hotmail.com and this is what I saw:
nwestra@TPNWST:~$ tracert messenger.hotmail.com
Tracing route to dp.msnmessenger.akadns.net [65.54.239.80]
over a maximum of 30 hops:
1 305 ms 318 ms 321 ms 10.22.255.254

Trace complete
I just couldn't help but notice the addresses marked in red.
A traceroute to www.hotmail.com shows the same initial hops, but does eventually reach it's destination.
